Deniz Alp, Turkey

1974 born in Ankara. 1984 started Ballet education at Hacettepe University State Conservatuary. 1993 attended International Dance Week in Praha organized by Charles University. 1994 graduated from Hacettepe University State Conservatuary Ballet Department. Started dancing professionally at Ankara State Opera and Ballet Modern Dance Company. (M.D.T.). Studied with Ben Craft at London Holborn Centre about the effect of dance and music on mind and body. 1999 attended Summer Dance Workshop of O Vertigo Dance Company in Canada. 2000 participated in the “I. Dance Platform” as dancer and trainer at Ankara State Opera and Ballet. 2001 choreographed and danced in the short film named “Adam” as a part of the “T.R.T. Young Film Makers Project”. 2002 created the choreography “Circulation” within the “Dance Lab Project” of M.D.T. which is also performed in the “II. Dance Platform” same year. Danced in the choreography “Nefesini Yitirmek” (Loosing Breath) by Berk Sarıbay as a competitor of the “17. International Choreography Competition” in Hannover/Germany. 2005 participated in the project “Nefis Nefs” by the photographer Osman Ürper. 2007 danced in the choreography “Rastgele” (Random) by Devrim İleri Tozkoporan performed at “Garaj İstanbul”. Choreographed and danced in the short dance film “Buz” (Ice), directed by Safak Türkel.

2008 created and performed the dance work “Çekim” together with Ejder Keskin for M.D.T.Danced with the Swiss dance company “Company Linga”, in the work named “Speed”, in Cannes, Lausanne and Warsaw. Took part in the live dance film performance “Kuğu” directed by Şafak Türkel as a choreographer and a dancer in İstanbul. (also performed in Ankara in 2009). 2011 made the choreography for “Bir Tayyare Serüveni’’ at Ankara State Theatre. Worked as trainer and choreography assistant in the MDTist project “Şehir Orman”, Performed in the special project “Anadolu Ekspresi-Göç” directed by Selçuk Göldere 2013 In March 2013 the Artistic director of his 30th  Ankara International  Festival of Wanda Golonka’s. Premier music festival of “Le BASAR”. 2013 In May  2013 She Worked as a choregrapher and dancer of premiered “Türkü’nün Öyküsü” of the work performed. 2013 In October 2013 She danced of the art consultant Dr. Ronit  Land’s  joint creation of his dancers YUN/US Project. 2013 In Ankara  She made a choreography of the “Kader Kısmet “ in Sivas State Theatre’s and  Ankara State Theatre’s to the “Nalınlar “of his work’s. 2014 In June  2014  in to the  Germany   The art direction exhibited at the Fringe Festival in June germany Reklinghaus Dr. Ronit land of his career took place in the project called Die  Flieh .2014  In November, the premiere of the choreography performed his İhsan Bengier the "Dostlar Beni Hatırlasın " has worked as a dancer and choreography assistant work . 

As a trainer, 

She gave classes at Hacettepe University State Conservatory Modern Dance Department and still works as a teacher at Ankara University State Conservatory Modern Dance Branch.  In the period that she gave classes at Hacettepe University she also created the dance “Karışık Duygular” for the students. She gave classes to M.E.T.U. Contemporary Dance Group, also participated the annual M.E.T.U. Contemporary Dance Days as teacher, dancer and choreographer in several occations. She attended to Izmir Ege University “Dansa Davet” festival (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012) and to Istanbul Maltepe University “Maltepe Dance Festival” (2006 and 2008) as a trainer. She gave contemporary dance classes to the ballet students at Dokuz Eylül Conservatory in 2012 and same year she’s also invited to “Theatre Hagen” (Germany) to give dance classes for two weeks.

Other significant experiences: 

She danced in the theatre works “Saz Kafeste Mor Kuslar”, ”Gazap Üzümleri”, ”Güzel ile Canavar” and “Balon” of Ankara  State  Theatre and in the opera pieces “Midasın Kulakları”, “Mavi Nokta”, “Fransa’da Aşk ve Şiir”, ”Andrea Cheiner” of State Opera and Ballet. 

Starting from the day she joined M.D.T. till now, she took part in many pieces at Ankara State Opera and Ballet and performed in many tours at home and abroad. She is still working as a dancer, trainer and choreographer at M.D.T. 

She worked with guest teachers and choreographers at M.D.T. like, Lloyd Newson, Ben Craft, Paul Douglas, Isabel Mortimer, Amanda Miller, Yair Vardi, Lutz Forster, Kenneth Tharp, Frederic Lescure, Yossi Yungman, Ignacio Azpillaga Camio, and Nicole Caccivio.
