Dr. B. Gokhan Somel
(1964) earned a bachelors degree in cello in 1987 from Hacettepe
University, Ankara State Conservatory. He studied cello and composition
after finishing school he worked in Ankara Opera House in cello section
until 1997. He has concluded his studies of a doctoral degree in
composition at the University of Memphis in 2005.
Along with cello and composition, he
got involved in jazz, performing piano and bass. He is currently
teaching at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Jazz Division
and head of department.
