Jean Jacques Balet, Switzerland
Jean Jacques Balet was born in Switzerland and
studied the piano at the Paris conservatoire with Lélia Gousseau. Having
won the first prize in 1974 he obtained the “licence de concert”
at the Ecole Normale de musique de Paris, then studied with Dieter Weber
in Vienna and Livia Rev and Ania Dorfman. He studied chamber music with
Tibor Varga during several years. He is currently professor at the
conservatoire de Genčve, (HEM) for accompaniment and chamber music. He
also conducts small ensembles in concerts dedicated to contemporary
music. He has given concerts in more than twenty countries and made
several records and gave master classes in Japan, China, Singapore. I
worked with important composers like Ohana, Dutilleux, Hosokawa and
Kurtág. Jean Jacques teaches chamber music, accompaniment and
contemporary chamber music at the Hem, (Haute Ecole de musique de
Genčve)
