Born in İstanbul, in 1982. Completed his undergraduate education at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. Received his master degree from Hacettepe University Graduate School of Social Sciences Musicology Graduate Program. Currently he continues with his doctorate education at Hacettepe University Graduate School of Fine Arts Music Theories Program and works as a research assistant at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Department of Musicology.

Özçifci has presented studies mainy on musical analysis at various scientific meetings both national and international. His graduate dissertation carries the name Golden Section in Bartók’s Sonata-Allegro.

He performs secular Medieval music with Ensemble Galatia since 2004.
